Jade Ferguson is an Associate Professor and Assistant Vice President, Academic Equity & Inclusion at the University of Guelph's College of Arts. She serves as core faculty in the Sexualities, Genders, and Social Change (SXGN) and Black Canadian Studies (BLCK) programs, while also directing the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE).
- Education: PhD and MA in English from Cornell University; BA in English from the University of British Columbia
Her research spans 19th to mid-20th century Canadian literature, Civil Rights Movement literature and photography, and Critical Race Theory. She is currently completing two monographs: Lynching in Canaan: Race, Violence, and Cultural Memory in Canada and Jim Crow Canada: Segregation and Civil Rights in Canadian Literature and Art. Her teaching includes community-engaged courses like Black Past in Guelph and Remembrance as Reconciliation, with a focus on racialized students' academic development through SURE, funded by the Learning Enhancement Fund and EDI Enhancement Fund.

In the Provost's Office, she leads initiatives in equity, diversity, and inclusion, focusing on faculty recruitment, mentorship, training workshops, and leadership development across the university.
