Jacques Fellay

Jacques Fellay is an Associate Professor at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at UNIL and the School of Life Sciences at EPFL. He is also the Director of the Precision Medicine Unit at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV), where he integrates research and clinical innovation.

His research focuses on the intersection of genomics, infectious diseases, and immunity. He investigates how variations in the human genome affect individual responses to infections such as HIV and hepatitis C, combining genomic analysis with bioinformatics to uncover key genetic determinants of disease susceptibility and immune response.

His career path includes a doctoral degree in medicine from UNIL, a PhD from Utrecht University, clinical training in infectious diseases, and a research position at Duke University from 2006 to 2010.

He leads a research group at EPFL and directs the Precision Medicine Unit at CHUV, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between life sciences and clinical medicine to advance the field of genomic medicine.
