Jacqueline Bede

Dr. Jacqueline Bede serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Science at McGill University's Macdonald Campus. Her research focuses on sustainable agricultural systems with emphasis on plant-environment interactions and stress management.

Her primary research interests include:

• Plant resistance mechanisms against pathogens and insect herbivores
• Plant-insect interactions under elevated CO₂ conditions
• Development of biopesticides and analysis of insect detoxification mechanisms
• Abiotic and biotic stress responses in agricultural systems
• Climate change impacts on crop production and greenhouse gas emissions

Dr. Bede's work addresses critical challenges in sustainable agriculture through integrated approaches to soil, water, and crop management systems.
