Jacob F Miranda

Dr. Jacob F Miranda is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at California State University - East Bay, joining in Fall 2023. He holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Alabama, an M.S. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Angelo State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside.

His research focuses on meta-science, political polarization, pedagogy, and DEI issues. He emphasizes improving research methods through the Open Science Movement and collaborates globally via initiatives like the Psychological Science Accelerator. His M.I.S.T. Lab (Metascientific Investigations and Scientific Training) aims to provide STEM opportunities for underrepresented groups.

Dr. Miranda has received awards including the Paul S. Siegel Teaching Award and grants supporting global scientific collaboration. He actively contributes to DEI efforts, leading diversity committees and DEI training programs at the University of Alabama.
