Jacob Comerci

Jacob Comerci is a designer, educator, and Managing Director of Academic Initiatives at the University of Michigan's Taubman College of Architecture. He holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

His research focuses on reimagining collective living and working models through interior retrofitting of existing buildings using furniture-scale domestic systems. Recent projects include:

• 'Racializing Space: Housing and Inequality in Detroit, 1930-2020' (2022) exploring spatial inequality
• 'Manhattan is Burning' (2019) proposing game-based urban planning approaches

Active in teaching architectural design and representation, Comerci has contributed to studios from UG3 to Urban Design III levels between 2023-2025.

He also explores experimental approaches to urbanism through video game development and digital scenographies, creating interactive frameworks for understanding spatial systems.
