Jaclyn Reed

Jaclyn Reed is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Communication Studies department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her research focuses on interpersonal communication dynamics, particularly marital and family communication processes involving relational uncertainty. She holds a PhD from the University of Iowa (2023), an MA (2021), and a BA from College of Saint Benedict (2016).

Dr. Reed has received multiple research awards totaling over $18,000, including the Graduate College Summer Fellowship and Post-Comprehensive Research Fellowship. Her dissertation explored newlyweds' transition into marriage through uncertainty management theory. She teaches courses like CST 110 and CST 230, emphasizing practical communication skills.

Her work examines how relational uncertainty manifests in marital transitions and intergenerational family relationships. Current research investigates parental marital status impacts on newlywed uncertainty. Office hours feature her feline teaching assistants Charlie and Abby.
