Jacky Burrows

Jacky Burrows is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice, part of Sheffield Hallam University's College of Social Sciences and Arts. She joined in 2014, teaching undergraduate criminology and probation officer training courses. Her research focuses on revenge porn, gender dynamics, victim blaming, criminal justice cultures, and risk management of suicide/self-harm in correctional settings.

Research Interests: Explores intersections of technology and criminology (e.g., revenge porn), gendered victimization, criminal justice system practices, and psychological interventions. Advising & Grants: Supervised doctoral thesis on whole-life imprisonment (2024). Previously worked in probation approved premises and prison psychology roles, specializing in suicide risk assessment tools and staff support strategies.
