Jackie Marshall is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Education at the University of Strathclyde since August 2017. She leads the largest undergraduate Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program in Scotland, the BA(Hons) Primary Education, and oversees Numeracy/Mathematics modules in PGDE and BA programs. With 25 years of teaching experience across Scotland, UAE, China, Ireland, and Spain, her expertise includes leadership roles in primary schools and fostering exceptional student experiences.
Her research focuses on Differentiation, Financial Education, and Raising Attainment through Interdependent Learning. She has contributed to peer-reviewed publications exploring pre-service teachers' attitudes and the implementation of peer assessment in higher education. Marshall collaborates with North Lanarkshire Council on professional learning initiatives and has designed financial education outreach programs.
Marshall is actively involved in curriculum development for international teacher education programs and serves on the HaSS Faculty Academic Committee. Her work emphasizes equity, excellence, and fostering positive attitudes toward mathematics and numeracy among both trainee teachers and children.
