Jack Tom is an Assistant Professor of Illustration at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) within the School of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts. With a career spanning decades, he has taught graphic design and illustration at prestigious institutions such as New York University, Syracuse University, and Fairfield University. A renowned educator and graphic designer, Tom brings extensive industry experience from roles as a staff designer/art director at McCall's Magazine, CBS (under Lou Dorfsman), and Business Week magazine.
He holds an MFA from the Hartford Art School and has served in leadership roles for professional organizations including the Connecticut Art Directors Club, Illustration Conferences (ICON3, 4 & 5), and AIGA-CT. His expertise in illustration and graphic design is complemented by his active engagement in academic and creative communities.
