Jack Schieffer is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky, where he engages in research and teaching at the intersection of agricultural practices and environmental sustainability. His work addresses environmental economics, policy analysis, and legal frameworks related to agricultural production.

Dr. Schieffer specializes in understanding the environmental impacts of agriculture, with a focus on agro-environmental policy, precision agriculture, non-market valuation, and water pollution regulations. His research contributes to developing economic incentives and legal strategies for sustainable farming practices.
At the University of Kentucky, he teaches undergraduate courses like Principles of Environmental Law (AEC 326) and Introduction to Resource and Environmental Economics (AEC 445G), alongside a Ph.D. course in environmental economics (AEC 745). He serves on the faculty steering committee for the Natural Resources and Environmental Science undergraduate program and coordinates internships (NRE 395/399) for the same program.
