Jack Rechcigl is a Professor and Center Director at the University of Florida/IFAS Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Balm and Plant City, as well as the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center in Davie. His work focuses on the beneficial uses of organic wastes and industrial by-products as fertilizers for agricultural crops, with a particular emphasis on pasture grasses and reducing fertilizer runoff into waterways. Dr. Rechcigl collaborates extensively on hop production in Florida, especially under subtropical conditions, developing innovative trellis systems and harvesting methods with colleagues at UF/IFAS.
