Jack Patrick Hayes

Jack Patrick Hayes is a Lecturer at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in British Columbia, Canada, with a focus on late imperial and modern China, early modern and modern Japan, and global and East Asian environmental history. He serves as Department Chair since 2019.

His research spans environmental history, military history, and socio-ecological systems, analyzing how ecosystems like wetlands and fire regimes interact with political, military, and cultural dynamics.
