Jacek Rzeszotnik is a Professor at the Department of German Literature after 1945 within the Faculty of Philology at the University of Wrocław, where he serves as Head of the Literature and Media Research Workshop and Founder/Director of the Literary and Media Research Center at the Institute of Germanic Philology. He is a Founding member of the Gesellschaft für Fantastikforschung (GFF) and co-editor of the journal Zeitschrift für Fantastikforschung, and previously held the position of Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Philology from 2005 to 2012.
His research spans Literary and Media Studies with core emphases on:
- 19th-21st century entertainment literature across German, Polish, and English languages
- Reception of fantasy literature and Stanisław Lem's works in German-speaking regions
- Imagological analysis of German-Polish intercultural perceptions
- Intermedia aesthetic transfers and New Media phenomena
With approximately 200 scientific publications disseminated internationally across Australia, Austria, France, Spain, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, and Hungary, he actively participates in the Internationale Vereinigung für Germanistik and Deutscher Germanistenverband. His expertise is recognized through jury membership for the prestigious German Kurd-Laßwitz Prize in science fiction literature.
