Jacek Jasieniak

Professor Jacek Jasieniak is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Infrastructure) at Monash University and holds a Professorship in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. He leads the Jacek Jasieniak Research Laboratory, focusing on nanomaterials and next-generation energy technologies. His expertise spans nanocrystals, quantum dots, solar cells, and energy storage solutions. Jasieniak has held roles including Associate Dean (Research) in the Faculty of Engineering, Director of the Monash Energy Institute, and leadership positions at CSIRO.

He completed a B.Sc. (Nanotechnology) at Flinders University (2003) and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Melbourne (2008). Awards include the Victorian Young Tall Poppy Award (2014) and Fulbright Fellowship (2011). His research addresses sustainable energy challenges, with projects funded by ARC, CSIRO, and industry partners.

Key research areas include solution-processed solar cells, semi-transparent electrodes, and luminescent nanoparticles. He collaborates globally on energy materials discovery and has pioneered advancements in perovskite solar cells and smart window technologies. His lab’s work bridges nanotechnology with practical applications in renewable energy and optoelectronics.
