Dr. Jiling Liu is a Clinical Associate Professor and Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University. He holds a PhD in Kinesiology from Texas A&M (2016) with prior degrees from Shanghai University of Sport (M.Ed., 2004) and Shandong Normal University (B.S., 2001). His teaching focuses on integrating self-regulated learning and transformative pedagogy into Physical Education courses, with multiple Quality Matters认证 online courses. He has received the 2021 ICSPAH Teaching Award and the 2022-2023 Provost Teaching Excellence Award for his instructional innovation.
Research interests include effective teaching methodologies, motivation in physical activity, and measurement evaluation. He leads a Presidential Transformational Teaching Grant-funded action research project and has authored/co-authored over two dozen peer-reviewed articles. Key contributions include meta-analyses of global physical activity levels and studies on goal orientation in education.
