About
JIANG Donglin is a Professor and Provost’s Chair Professor (2022-2025) at the Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. and Postdoctoral degree from The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on two-dimensional organic polymers and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), exploring their design, synthesis, functions, and applications in photocatalysis, energy conversion, and proton conduction. His work includes developing COFs for efficient photosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide using water, air, and light, achieving high quantum yields and solar-to-chemical conversion efficiencies.
Education:
- Ph.D., The University of Tokyo
- Postdoctoral Research, The University of Tokyo
Research Highlights: Jiang’s lab pioneers vertically expanded COFs for photocatalytic water oxidation and designs π-electronic frameworks to enhance charge separation and mass transport. Recent achievements include exceptional anhydrous proton conduction in COFs and helicene-based COFs for robust light harvesting.
Awards:
- World’s Most Highly Cited Researcher in Chemistry (Clarivate Analytics, 2018–2024)
- Fellow of European Academy of Sciences (2022)
- Alexander von Humboldt Research Award (2021)
Teaching: Teaches CM4258 Advanced Polymer Science in AY2024/2025.
Labs & Activities: Leads the JIANG LABORATORY, focusing on 2D polymers and COFs. Actively recruits PhD candidates and offers scholarships (NUS Research Scholarships, PGF, A*STAR SINGA) with full funding. Provides UROPS/FYP projects and international summer internships.
