JESUS GIRALDEZ RIVERO

JESÚS GIRALDEZ RIVERO is a Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences. He is part of the Institute of Studies and Development of Galicia (IDEGA) and the research group GESPIC (Business and Sectoral History Study Group: Fishing, Industry and Commerce). His work focuses on the historical analysis of economic institutions and sectoral development, particularly in Galicia's fishing industry.

He holds a PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela (1990), with a thesis titled Growth and transformation of the Galician fishing sector (1880-1936), supervised by Dr. Xán Carmona Badía. His research intersects economic history, institutional analysis, and regional economic development.
