J.J. Mayo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Family Sciences at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). He holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology and is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). His research focuses on sports supplements and ketogenic diets, with publications in scientific and lay journals. He has been featured in magazines such as Men’s Health and US Weekly. Dr. Mayo is an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
He is a dedicated athlete, having competed in marathons, ultramarathons, and triathlons for over 15 years. Notably, he is a Boston Marathon qualifier and has completed 10 Ironman triathlons with a personal best of 10 hours and 30 minutes.
