J.H. Slinger

J.H. Slinger is a Professor in Policy Analysis at Delft University of Technology's School of Technology, Policy and Management, with an honorary visiting professorship at Rhodes University, South Africa. She serves as Treasurer of the Scientific Committee for Problems of the Environment (SCOPE) since 2023.

Her research focuses on transdisciplinary environmental systems modelling, combining field-based aquatic knowledge, mathematical modelling, intervention methods, and participatory engagement with communities, policymakers, and private sectors. Key research areas include ecosystem-based design for river and coastal systems, co-design approaches to environmental management, and transdisciplinary interactions between science and policy.

Her recent publications demonstrate strong trends in living lab methodologies, ecological restoration financing, and polyphonic water policy frameworks, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and transdisciplinary learning pathways across environmental sustainability contexts.
