J. Patrick Corrigan

J. Patrick Corrigan is an Associate Professor of Philosophy and Department Chair at Assumption University. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America (1996), an M.A. from The University of Texas at Austin (1980), and a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion from The Catholic University of America (1977).

His research focuses on normative ethics, moral philosophy, and intersections between philosophy and religion. He has taught undergraduate courses such as Trials and Deaths of Socrates and Jesus, Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, and God and the Philosophers, often engaging with classical and Renaissance ethical frameworks.

Corrigan has presented at international conferences, including analyses of Plato’s Socrates, Aristotle’s epistemology, and Renaissance ethical clashes. His Ph.D. thesis explored the normative foundations of morality through Hume, Price, and Reid.
