Izumi Yoshida

Dr. Izumi Yoshida serves as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Animation Fundamentals Workshop within the Institute of Animation and Games at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. She instructs first-cycle full-time students in foundational animation techniques across dedicated studio spaces at Franciszkańska Street 76/78.

Her expertise spans diverse animation methodologies including hand-drawn, plasticine-based stop-motion, cut-out techniques, and digital computer animation. The workshop curriculum emphasizes motion analysis as the core vehicle for storytelling, training students to develop both representational precision and abstract compositional skills through short-form animated projects. Critical attention is given to character animation, music/dialogue integration, and collaborative production workflows.

As studio head, Dr. Yoshida oversees comprehensive training in animation fundamentals where students master techniques from traditional flat animation to combined stop-motion approaches. The program cultivates professional readiness through hands-on experience in all animation phases—from conceptual drawing to final output—preparing graduates for industry roles as skilled film animators capable of independent and team-based creation.
