Ivy Guild is a Teaching Assistant Professor and Head of Visual Foundations at the University of Nevada, Reno's Department of Art, Art History and Design. Her work bridges art, science, and speculative fiction to explore post-Anthropocene environments and the intersection of human and biological materials. Guild holds a B.A. in Visual Arts and Art History from the University of San Diego (2016) and an MFA in Studio Art from the University of California, Irvine (2021).
Research focuses on interdisciplinary art, environmental collapse narratives, and material experimentation. Notable works include The Keeling (2021 MFA thesis exhibition) and fungAI (2020), which integrate organic and synthetic materials to interrogate ecological trauma.
Exhibitions include Purdue University Galleries (2022), Mozaik Philanthropy's virtual Ecosystem X (2022), and the Contemporary Arts Center Gallery (2021). Awards include Mozaik Philanthropy's Featured Art Prize (2021). Residencies span PLAYA (2023), Lighthouse Works (2022), and Vermont Studio Center (2018/2022).
Courses taught include ART 100 Visual Foundations. Her practice combines sculpture, weaving, and photography to visualize speculative futures. Current research explores body-hardware fusion and post-extinction artifacts.
