Ivonne Fitzgerald is an Instructor of Spanish in the Department of Languages of Europe and the Americas at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa. She holds a B.A. in Spanish, Sociology, and Psychology, as well as a M.A. in Spanish, all from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Originally from Ilo, Peru, she has resided in Oahu since 2000 and has been teaching at UH Mānoa since 2008. Her teaching focuses on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year Spanish courses, emphasizing grammar, language, and writing.
Professional involvement includes roles as a Search Advocate for UH and mentor in the Hānai Mentor program. She is affiliated with the American Association of Teachers of Spanish & Portuguese (AATSP) and the Hawai‘i Association of Language Teachers (HALT). Her expertise spans Spanish language pedagogy, sociolinguistics, and cultural education.
