Ivo Rauch

Ivo Rauch is a Visiting Tutor in the Department of History of Art at the University of York, specializing in stained glass conservation and heritage management. He holds a PhD in art history from the University of Freiburg. His roles include teaching on the MA Stained Glass Conservation course and leading international heritage consultancy projects.

Education: theology and pedagogy (University of Trier), art history and German language (Universities of Trier, Basel, Freiburg). His research focuses on medieval and modern stained glass, iconography, and church furnishings.

Professional roles include Director of Glasmalerei Dr. H. Oidtmann (1995–1999), Curator at Museum Schnütgen (Cologne), and lecturer at Universities of Trier and Düsseldorf. He currently chairs the German National Committee of the Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi and the ICOMOS/CVMA Conservation Committee.

His consultancy work spans Europe and North America, emphasizing conservation projects and collaborative heritage initiatives. He actively publishes and lectures on iconographic and conservation topics.
