Ives R. Levesque

Ives R. Levesque serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at McGill University and is an Associate Member of the Medical Physics Unit. He also works as a Medical Physicist in the Department of Medical Physics at the McGill University Health Centre, located at the Glen Site in Montréal.

Dr. Levesque's research expertise centers on Magnetic Resonance Imaging development, with specialization in MRI physics, acquisition techniques, and advanced image reconstruction methodologies. His work focuses on magnetization transfer and relaxation mapping techniques with significant applications across multiple clinical domains.

He leads the MRI Methods Group where his team develops innovative MR imaging approaches specifically for radiation oncology treatment planning. His research bridges engineering, physics, and clinical medicine with applications in oncology, neuroimaging, and musculoskeletal imaging.

Dr. Levesque's academic background includes undergraduate and graduate training in physics with specialization in medical physics, followed by interdisciplinary postdoctoral work at Stanford University that combined electrical engineering and radiology perspectives.
