Ivar Kolstad

Ivar Kolstad is Research Professor at Chr. Michelsen Institute specializing in political economy of development. His research examines resource curse dynamics, climate migration, tax policy, and corruption using experimental methods and large-scale surveys across Africa and Asia.

Kolstad leads projects on climate migration in Bangladesh, corporate taxation in Tanzania, and resource governance. He has published extensively on how natural resources affect institutional development, citizen mobilization, and economic diversification in resource-rich countries.
