About
Ivana SAVALLI-LESTRADE is a permanent researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with the ANHIMA research unit (UMR 8210). As a leading scholar in Hellenistic history, her work focuses on civic networks, monarchical structures, and elite mobility in the Greek world from the classical to imperial periods. She earned her habilitation (HDR) from Paris IV in 2003 with the thesis Le métier de roi à l'époque hellénistique.
Her research explores interconnected city dynamics, royal philoi relationships, and epigraphic evidence of social reproduction. She co-edited critical works like Fratries and adelphic relations in Greek cities (2023) and The interconnected city in the Greco-Roman world (2019). She directed the KALLITEKNOS research program (2019-2023) and co-organized international seminars on epigraphic and societal interactions.
Recent publications analyze Hellenistic royal diplomacy (e.g., «Ambassadeurs royaux, rois ambassadeurs», 2017), civic brotherhoods (2022), and cultural networks in Asia Minor. Her epigraphic expertise informs studies of Attalid political strategies and Hellenistic mobility patterns, though no specific scientific awards are mentioned.
