Ivan Fumado Ortega

Ivan Fumado Ortega is a researcher at the Universitat de València, affiliated with the Faculty of Geography and History and the Department of Prehistory, Ancient History, and Archaeology. He is a member of the GRAM (Archaeological Research Group on the Mediterranean), contributing to studies on ancient Mediterranean civilizations.

His research focuses on archaeological urbanism, particularly the urban morphology and land-use systems of ancient Carthage during the 8th to 2nd centuries BCE. His work bridges archaeology, history, and spatial analysis of ancient settlements.

Dr. Fumado Ortega completed his doctoral studies at the Universitat de València with a thesis on Carthaginian urban development. He was supervised by Dr. Carmen Aranegui Gascó and Dr. Ricardo Mar Medina.

He is actively involved in archaeological research through the GRAM group, which promotes interdisciplinary studies on Mediterranean heritage and ancient urban landscapes.
