About
Dr. Ivan Alekseichuk is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and heads the Precision Neuromodulation Lab. His research focuses on clinical neuroscience and neural engineering to understand mental health mechanisms through closed-loop brain stimulation and imaging.
- PhD in Systems Neuroscience, University of Göttingen (2017)
- MS in Neurobiology and Psychophysiology, Saint Petersburg State University (2013)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Minnesota (2019)
His work explores causal brain-behavior relationships using non-invasive techniques like TMS/tACS, real-time neuroimaging (EEG/MRI), computational modeling, and biomedical robotics. Current clinical trials target depressive disorders, mood regulation, and memory support.
Recent research trends include:
- Closed-loop neurostimulation systems
- EEG phase-dependent stimulation algorithms
- Primate cortical layer-specific neuromodulation
- Deep learning-enhanced field estimations
Scientific Recognition:
- Travel Award, American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (2023)
- Pathway to Independence Award, National Institute of Mental Health (2022)
- Young Investigator Award, Brain & Behavior Research Foundation (2022)
- MnDRIVE Neuromodulation Fellowship (2018)
Professional Engagements:
- Editorial Board Member, Brain Stimulation Journal
- Member, IEEE Engineering Medicine and Biology Society
- Member, North American Neuromodulation Society
- Member, Society for Neuroscience
