Dr. Isobel Roele is a Reader in Law at Queen Mary, University of London's Department of Law, within the School of Law. She holds an LLB from King's College London, an LLM, and a PhD from the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on international organizations, particularly the United Nations, blending critical theory, psychoanalysis, and art history. She co-directed the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (2016–2021), emphasizing aesthetics and materiality in international law. She has collaborated with institutions like Tate Modern and holds visiting roles at the University of New South Wales and Melbourne Law School.
Her education includes advanced degrees in law and a current MA in Art History at Birkbeck. She teaches Equity and Trusts and contributes to interdisciplinary projects like 'The Art of Law.'
