Isobel Barnes

Isobel Barnes is an Associate Professor and Senior Statistician at the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) within the University of Oxford. She earned her PhD in Statistics and joined the CEU in 2010, focusing on cancer epidemiology and population health research.

Her research explores:

• Cancer screening efficacy, particularly in extending breast screening age ranges (AgeX trial).
• Risk factors for cancer in diverse ethnic groups.
• Epidemiological studies of cervical and breast cancer.
• Large-scale cohort studies like the Million Women Study (1.3 million participants).
