Ishwar Pun

Dr. Ishwar Pun is an International Teaching Fellow in Agriculture and Environmental Science at the Royal Agricultural University (UK) and QAU (China). He specializes in agri-environmental research, with expertise in cereal crop production, environmental science (soil and greenhouse gases), and land-use planning using GIS. His interdisciplinary work spans climate change impacts, nutrient management, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Research Interests: Dr. Pun’s work focuses on crop resilience under climate change, soil carbon dynamics, and socio-economic dimensions of land-use planning. He employs tools like GIS to analyze urban-suburban land-use changes and their environmental impacts. His recent studies include outdoor pig farming’s effects on soil quality and methane emissions from rice cultivation methods.

Publications & Presentations: His research has been published in journals like Soil Use and Management and Journal of Asian Energy Studies, with conference contributions on Fukushima’s nuclear accident impacts and hydropower-glacier interdependencies in Nepal.
