Isabelle Delpla

Isabelle Delpla is a Professor of Philosophy and Vice President for Research at Jean Moulin University - Lyon 3, affiliated with the Triangle laboratory (UMR 5206). Her academic journey includes a Doctorate in Philosophy from University of Clermont II and Habilitation (HDR) in Philosophy and Political Science from ENS Lyon. She previously held positions at Paul Valéry University Montpellier III and taught at the École Polytechnique. Her research focuses on ethics, international justice, and the philosophy of language, with particular attention to post-war justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Delpla has led major research initiatives like the ACI program on morality and international justice, and her work bridges philosophy with anthropology and political science. She has authored/co-edited over 20 books and numerous articles on transitional justice, philosophical interpretation, and Pierre Bayle's thought. Her awards include the Walter Zellidja Scholarship (1989). Delpla actively participates in international conferences and media engagements, emphasizing ethical dimensions of global justice and historical accountability.
