Isabel Wang

Dr. Isabel Wang is a Senior Lecturer in Chinese and Head of Global Cultures & Languages at the University of Tasmania's School of Humanities. Her expertise spans teaching Chinese as a foreign language, technology-enhanced learning, and cultural studies. She holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania (2014) and has certifications in training and assessment (TasTAFE). Recognized with a prestigious research fellowship from Taiwan's Centre of Chinese Studies (2014), she has also received a University Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning and three Teaching Merit Certificates.

Her research focuses on pedagogical innovations, including 3D immersive learning environments, learning analytics, and online education. Isabel coordinates the High Achiever Program linking universities with schools. She has led grants totaling over $34,000, investigating online student engagement, learning analytics, and language education in Tasmanian schools. Supervised doctoral students include Hester Petronella Garner (2019-2023) and Fan Li (2018-2023).
