Isabel Palmeirim is Professor and Director of Education at the Champalimaud Foundation, with an MD background and PhD in Genetics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie. Her doctoral breakthrough identified the embryonic molecular clock, recognized by Nature as a developmental biology milestone. Previously, she founded medical programs at Universities of Minho and Algarve, serving as Medicine Program Director (2013-2023).
Her research examines genetic mechanisms governing embryonic development timelines, particularly molecular timing systems in morphogenesis. Current educational leadership focuses on developing innovative biomedical curricula at Champalimaud.
