Isabel Oakes is a Research Assistant at the Oxford Martin Programme on Changing Global Orders, focusing on the history of food security and political economy. She is also a DPhil student in Modern European History at Lincoln College, University of Oxford, and a Visiting Researcher at the SCRIPTS cluster of excellence at the Free University of Berlin.
Her research explores the history of 'green capitalism' in 20th-century Germany, intersecting intellectual, economic, and environmental history. Isabel is currently editing a volume on neoliberal environmental thought, contributing to broader discourses in historical and environmental studies.
