Iris McCormick is a Lecturer in Sustainable Agriculture at RAU and holds the title of Vice-Chancellor Scholar. She completed an MSc (Distinction) in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security at RAU and possesses a BA Hons in English Literature and a Cambridge Certificate in TEFL. Her career spans three decades in tourism/hospitality, farming engagement, and academia.
Her research focuses on virtual livestock fencing and animal welfare policy, alongside ongoing PhD work. She previously worked at Cotswold National Landscape delivering the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) grant scheme, enhancing biodiversity and public access to farms. Outside academia, she co-founded a village orchard group and maintains cattle for conservation grazing.
Publications include a 2023 study on GPS shock collars' welfare implications in conservation and farming contexts. Her teaching emphasizes sustainable agriculture practices.
