Irene Litvan is a Professor of Neurosciences at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), where she serves as Director of the UCSD Parkinson and Other Movement Disorders Center of Excellence. She is also Chief Editor of Frontiers in Neurology and a Fellow of the American Neurological Association (ANA) and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
Her research focuses on neurodegenerative movement disorders, particularly Parkinson's disease and tauopathies, with expertise in diagnostic criteria, REM sleep behavior disorder, and tau pathology imaging.
