Irene Brooke is a Lecturer in Renaissance Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, specializing in Venetian artistic and intellectual culture of the early sixteenth century. Her research examines Cardinal Pietro Bembo's patronage, the engraver Giulio Campagnola, and portrait cultures of Early Modern cardinals.
Her research interests span collecting strategies, print culture, portraiture, landscape evolution, reception of antiquity, and cultural exchange. She employs interdisciplinary approaches connecting art history with humanist traditions.
Brooke has presented internationally at venues including Fondazione Giorgio Cini (2023), Università degli Studi di Padova (2022), and multiple Renaissance Society of America conferences.
