About
Irem Denizli is a PhD student and Tutor at the University of Glasgow within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. She previously earned her MSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics at Bogazici University, focusing on molecular toxicology and cancer regulation. Her current research investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying seasonal rhythms and phenotype plasticity.
Her research spans endocrinology, molecular genetics, and epigenetics, with a focus on hormonal regulation of physiological processes in mammals. Recent publications explore prolactin’s role in renal rheostasis, testicular DNA methylation, and body mass regulation across seasons. She collaborates with the Stevenson Lab to study these mechanisms.
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant and lab demonstrator, she contributes to education in biodiversity, one health, and veterinary medicine. Her expertise includes bioinformatics and computational tools, gained through academic training and prior technical support for a start-up.
