Insa Müller

Insa Müller is an Associate Professor at the Department of Historical and Classical Studies within the Faculty of Humanities at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She co-leads the research group 'Museology and Museum Research' with Mattias Bäckström and serves as a special advisor for community dialogue at the Arven Museums since 2019.

Her research intersects museology, cultural heritage, memory studies, historical didactics, and digital cultural heritage. Key projects include:

• MuSaDel (2022-2024): Focused on museum education, societal participation, and workforce relevance in collaboration with Arven Museums.
• MeMin: Explored digital tools (VR/AR) for communicating history at memorial sites like Falstad, including the 2018 app 'Falstad digital reconstruction.'

Recent publications analyze digital engagement at historical sites, while her 2020 monograph The Local Museum in the Global Village rethinks local museums' roles in multicultural societies. She has been nominated for academic honors and collaborates widely with Norwegian cultural institutions.
