About
Ingrid Olson is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Temple University's College of Liberal Arts. She is an affiliated faculty member in the Neuroscience Program and conducts research at the intersection of memory, social cognition, and cognitive neuroscience.
- Education: BA from University of Michigan, PhD in Psychology from Yale University
Her research focuses on memory systems (episodic, semantic, working memory) and their interactions with decision-making, language, and social processing. She employs structural and functional MRI, network connectivity, and behavioral studies to explore these topics.
The Olson Lab is engaged in longitudinal studies of episodic memory development in children, neural exposome analysis, cerebellar contributions to social functions, and vascular aspects of cognitive aging. Collaborators include Dr. Nora Newcombe at Temple Infant Lab.
Her lab utilizes high-resolution brain imaging techniques and behavioral experiments to investigate how memory components evolve in young children and how neurological factors (e.g., white matter pathways, cerebellar structures) influence cognitive aging.
Professor Olson teaches undergraduate Cognitive Neuroscience and graduate-level Core in Cognitive Psychology courses. Her office is located in Weiss Hall at Temple University.
