Ingmar van Meerkerk

Dr. Ingmar van Meerkerk is an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Administration and Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He holds a Master's degree (cum laude, 2009) and a PhD (2014) from the same institution. His research focuses on boundary spanning agents in interactive governance systems, particularly in urban development, public-private partnerships, and citizen participation. He employs mixed-methods approaches to study collaboration dynamics, democratic legitimacy, and governance performance.

Key research areas include: boundary spanning roles, community-based initiatives, contractual fairness in infrastructure projects, and the durability of solidarity initiatives. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to sustainable cities (Goal 11) and partnerships for the goals (Goal 17).
