About
Inge Hoff is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTNU. Her research focuses on transport infrastructure, particularly road and railway construction, pavement materials, and frost protection. She leads active PhD students including Lisa Hanasvik, Arman Hamidi, Clara Weber, and Shoiab Ahmad.
Her work spans laboratory testing of road materials, non-destructive surveys using ground-penetrating radar, and the mechanical properties of granular materials. Recent studies include stress distribution analysis in unbound layers and asphalt aging models under Norwegian climate conditions.
Hoff has published extensively in journals like Transportation Geotechnics and Materials and Structures. Her teaching includes courses on pavement design (TBA 4204/BYGT1102) and advanced infrastructure topics. She collaborates on Nordic railway maintenance practices and EU transport infrastructure management strategies.
Her lab focuses on sustainable material use, such as recycled aggregates in asphalt, and innovative technologies like self-healing asphalt mixtures. Ongoing projects address climate change impacts on road design and frost protection in temperate zones.
