About
Prof. Dr. Inga Zerr serves as Head of the Cooperation Unit at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Göttingen, leading research on molecular mechanisms in Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD).
Her work integrates:
- Genomics, proteomics, and interactomics for molecular pathway analysis
- Epigenetic mechanisms (small RNAs, methylation) in prion diseases
- Neuroinflammation dynamics in neurodegenerative dementia
- RT-QuIC-based in vitro amplification assays for misfolded proteins
- SWATH proteomics for disease-specific signature identification
She directs a multidisciplinary team utilizing mass spectrometry, confocal laser scanning, and transgenic models. Key collaborators include Dr. Saima Zafar (neuro-proteomics of rapid progressive dementias) and Dr. Matthias Schmitz (RT-QuIC analysis of PrPSc, Aß, Tau, and α-synuclein).
