Ines Machado

Ines Machado is a Researcher at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Cambridge Mathematics of Information in Healthcare Hub (CMIH) and the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute.

Her educational background includes bachelor's and master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of New University of Lisbon, and a Ph.D. from the MIT Portugal Program conducted at Instituto Superior Técnico and Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Machado's research focuses on developing machine and deep learning models for cancer applications. Her doctoral work concentrated on developing new methods and technologies to improve precision in image-guided neurosurgery. She currently works with Dr. Mireia Crispin-Ortuzar and Professor Carola-Bibiane Schönlieb on advancing AI applications in oncology.

Her research spans the intersection of computational mathematics and healthcare, with particular emphasis on applying advanced algorithms to solve critical challenges in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
