Imke Mizera

Imke Mizera serves as a Lecturer at the Asia Africa Institute within the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Hamburg, specializing in Middle Eastern studies with a focus on Islamic history and societal structures.

Her research spans Islamic History, Middle Eastern Studies, Social History of Islam, Transmission of Sacred Traditions, and Persian Literature. She is affiliated with key projects including Social Contexts of Rebellion in the Early Islamic Period (SCORE), Persian Letters from the "second Iran" (13th-century Anatolian insha'-work analysis), and The Evolution of Islamic Societies (600-1600 CE algorithmic social history).

The Asia Africa Institute hosts interdisciplinary research on Asia-Africa connections, with active projects like COBHUNI, FGM-Egypt, and Rifaiya-Iraq addressing contemporary regional challenges through historical and sociological lenses.
