Iman Afify

Iman Afify is a Doctoral Research Fellow in Middle East Studies at the University of Oslo's Department of Culture, Religion, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. She holds a BA in Media and Language Studies (2017) from Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and an MA in Sociocultural Anthropology (2022) from The American University in Cairo.

Her research interests include ethnography, multimodal methodologies, museology, archival studies, decolonial theory, and memory studies, with a focus on sensory and affective dimensions of cultural practices.
