Ilmo Räisänen

Ilmo Räisänen is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Physics at the University of Jyväskylä, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. His research focuses on thermal transport phenomena and superconducting devices, particularly phononic crystals and quantum applications. He investigates how periodic structures in silicon nitride membranes reduce thermal conductance for improved thermoelectric efficiency, as well as superconducting tunnel junctions for thermal measurement and control.

Research Group: Thermal nanophysics and superconducting devices explores nanoscale thermal transport, phononic crystals, near-field phenomena, and quantum device development for applications like qubits and detectors.
