Dr. Ilker Kayabas serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Distance Education at Anadolu University's Open Education Faculty since 2019. His career at the university spans over two decades, including roles as Assistant Director of the Learning Technologies R&D Unit (2004-2015) and research assistant (2011-2019).

His research focuses on artificial intelligence applications in education, e-learning experience design, learning analytics, and gamification. Dr. Kayabas has advised 17 theses and led 15 research projects, resulting in 50 publications. He has designed and developed learning technologies for major Turkish institutions including the Ministry of National Education and Ministry of Health.
He is a key member of the Learning Technologies Research and Development Unit, where he has contributed to building learning management systems, interactive e-courses, and e-portfolio applications.
